There is something really errie about this. I Found the last 10 seconds particularly interesting. I also thought I heard a conversation about slack in the line. Numbers in three or four languages... It's hauntingly perplexing.
There's a double CD set available of the South Pacific number stations. To date no one's said definitely what they may be for or what the hell it's like speaking numbers into a microphone for a few hours straight.
They have, apparently, traced some of the stations to US diplomatic compounds.
